The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will move forward with its 2022 Golden Globe ceremony, even though NBC has declined to air the show anymore.
Back in May, the network announced it would not air next year’s Golden Globes after a Los Angeles Times exposé found there were zero Black members within the HFPA. It’s comprised of 87 international journalists who determine the nominees and winners of the Golden Globes each year, but Variety reports that the HFPA still “plans to recognize the performances of 2021 to celebrate the great work of the industry this past year at the 79th Annual Golden Globes” despite not having a TV deal.
No further details were given on what the ceremony could look like. The embattled organization has begun reforms, such as adding 21 new members including 29% Black journalists and banning members from receiving gifts and trips from studios.
